The performance will include a sing-along segment, as well as some audience participation on some of our songs.

The theme of our winter concert this year is a continuation of our dreams and wishing-on-stars theme. We ask Santa for stuff, and wish for things, and we wish for things that are not things, like peace in our families, love and harmony for the world.

Holiday Harmony and Stuff: Sunday, December 1st at 3pm

Plan to have your friends and family over for dinner after our concert.

A perfect way to kick off the holiday season!

Our Winter Concert, HOLIDAY LIGHTS, will take place at Trinity Anglican Church in Aurora on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, at 3:00 in the afternoon.

YRCC Members, make plans to be busy all day, and invite your friends and family to take you out for dinner after! Or, maybe you'll want to go home and put your feet up after, so invite friends and family over and order in! Cheers!

Also, choristers, keep Tuesdays free all December long, Dec. 5, 12, 19. We'll be visiting seniors homes to sing some of our repertoire and to do some sing-alongs.

We have 6 visits planned for our Spring Seniors Tour so far. Please keep on checking the YRCC Google Calendar for details. Every Tuesday after the concert, we're going to different seniors' residences, assisted living centres, retirement homes, long-term care facilites, etc., to sing for groups of seniors where they live. We perform a selection of our concert songs and spend half an hour singing with the seniors, a sing-along of old standards, familiar to most.

Our Spring Concert will take place on the first weekend of May.

We wanted our concert to be the Sunday afternoon, May 7th, but somehow we didn't get it. So, we booked Saturday, May 6th for a 3:00 concert. If the 7th opens up in time, we will switch.

This will be our big We Rise Again concert with a theme of Sunshine and Happiness arising from Singing Together

Right after the concert, our seniors' tour starts with a visit to Mackenzie Place in Newmarket, Tuesday, December 6th at 7:00 for a half hour show/half hour sing-along to lift spirits for the holidays. We have 3 seniors' visits planned, all listed in our YRCC Calendar. Keep posted for details, like do you we have to come early for rapid tests or not? TBD.

This performance was cancelled due to rain.

We're going to sing together at Fairy Lake again, but this time we can have an audience!

Tell your friends and family. Sunday, July 24th in the afternoon, 2-3:30.

All members are welcome to put on black and white weather-appropriate clothes and come and sing! We're going to sing all of our old favourites, so you won't feel like you missed rehearsals. The small group that has been meeting can sing a couple of new songs as a small group. We'll have all the binders for everyone there.

Love is all we need to feel good about ourselves and to feel good about others. We need just love in our families, in our communities and in the world.

Music provides inspiration to make the world a better place with love, just love.

The YRCC will sing, with love in our hearts, about love.

And, our message will be that love can change a person, a family, a community, and ultimately the world.

We continue to sing a message of peace through song. Our feeling, our belief, is that singing together moves people towards peace and brings us closer to Peace on Earth.

YRCC to sing at Trix and Ron's Wedding

Trix Verge and Ron Thomas have hired the York Region Community Choir to sing at their wedding!

We will sing our Trix up the aisle and we'll sing the new couple back down the aisle. We will also entertain the guests during the signing of the papers.

We hope for good weather, as the ceremony will take place outdoors at Fairy Lake. (There is a back-up plan; no worries.)

YRCC Spring Concert: Take Me Home

Take Me Home

will feature songs of Canada and by Canadians

and music that takes us home.

In addition to the fantastic choral arrangements for the 65-member choir accompanied by our wonderful pianist, Sapphire Navaratnarajah, there will be solos and small group offerings, some accompanied by guitarists (Kevin Thompson, Kevin Jaques and Heather Vickers). You'll hear all kinds of music from Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen to the Beatles, Brahms and Verdi! The concert will also feature our famous intermission bake sale, which is really an all-you-can-eat baking extravaganza.

Tickets are $15 each, but if you buy in advance from one of the choir members, they're 2/$25!

Arts Richmond Hill presents the 5th Annual Choral Extravaganza!

This year the York Region Community Choir will be one of 9 choirs participating!

We will sing a few songs of our own and at the end all choirs will join together for 3 mass chorus pieces! It's going to be huge! Around 250 voices!

Buy tickets from YRCC members. Tickets are also available through members of other choirs and the Arts Richmond Hill Website.

Come and see us and hear us on Sunday, January 26th at 6:30 at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts on Yonge St. north of Major Mackenzie.

Experience the wonderful acoustics of Hillary House during this live performance. Before or after enjoying the music feel free to explore the building and exhibits! Children can participate in crafts and activities throughout the day.

Hillary House is open Wednesday to Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm December 4 - 21.

Explore Hillary House and see the gorgeous holiday decorations, including two historic Christmas trees (done by our friends at the Aurora Horticultural Society. Visit the three 2013 exhibits before they are gone! Crafts, activities and more for the young and young-at-heart.

We're singing at lunchtime to help to create a festive atmosphere at the United Way Craft and Gift Show at the York Region Administrative Centre on Yonge St.

Come and shop and hear us sing.

The Regional Municipality of York and York Regional Police will hold its 20th Annual York Region United Way Craft and Gift Show in support of United Way York Region. The event will take place on Friday, November 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the York Region Administrative Centre, located at 17250 Yonge Street in the Town of Newmarket. The show includes vendors representing local artisans from across York Region and the GTA, selling gifts galore, perfect for Santa’s check list, stocking stuffers and the person who has everything. Both parking and admission to the show are free and there is an ATM on-site for your convenience.
