Love theme from St. Elmo's Fire, by David Foster, has a pretty melody that I'm sure you'll recognize. It's a 4-part arrangement, so I need all parts please. This can be a bigger small group. I think we have lots of copies of the music. Sign up as soon as possible, we might start as soon as Feb. 13.

Please check the Events Sign Up page and sign up for one or two of our seniors' home performances.  For those of you new to the Choir, singing with these residents of seniors' homes is one of the most rewarding things we do as members of the Choir. The performances are on Mondays in May and June after our big concert in May between 7 and 8 on our normal rehearsal night (Monday).  Details are on the sign-up page!

Check out what is going on in our Region under News - Local Arts Events.  There is lots to chase away those winter blues for those of us not travelling to warmer climes!

I had asked for input on the choir uniform and for ideas of songs to sing as sing-alongs at our concert. I'm thinking of maybe having a medley of folk/campfire/traditional songs and a medley of pop/rock/radio songs, so that we can sing more!

    What do you think?

Some people have emailed me and have commented on my blog. That's great! Thanks!

You can also have a conversation about both topics here on the website in the Forum section. I'll start them off. This way, it's easy to keep track of all the ideas that are floating around.

Sign up for the bilingual small group starting Monday, January 30th at 6:30.

We're singing V'la l'bon vent! (Go, Good Wind!)

There are 10 spots for this song, and although it's in 2 parts, I hope to get a tenor or two.

Don't forget! We're at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Aurora this Monday, January 16th!

Members should have all received an email, but can also find this information on our Google Calendar. There are several links to the calendar on this website and there are links to the calendar on my blog as well. There are links to my blog in a couple of different places on this website as well. Click around. Make yourself at home.

On my blog, Renate's Baton, I write about each rehearsal during the week after. If you missed it, you'll know what we did while you were away. And, I post which songs we will be singing the following Monday, so you can prepare if you like. We don't always do all the things that I plan to do, but it's pretty close.

Also on the blog, I listed a number of Canadian songs for you to consider if you want to create a small group or sing a solo. We have a lot of folk music in our repertoire, so please consider a pop song. There are tons of great songs written by Canadians.

We also have a Facebook page you can follow for news and musical stuff.

We do our best to communicate with you. Please do your part and read all choir emails, especially before each Monday, and look our for news on the website, here, on my blog and on Facebook.
